AKURE RAIN

Akure Rain - Commune Writers

I have seen it rain
but in Akure, it’s different;
cos it could easily pass for snow.

When it rains lightly,
it adorns the sky with colorful lighting
and when heavy,
it cries with a flood.

When it dances,
the umbrella moves with it
leaving the grasp of its holder.

Like a jealous wife,
it turns the earth inside out,
looking for what was never there.

If it rains peacefully,
and spouses and lovers meet,
the end product is always a twin.

ROLL THE DICE
